Getting here

The historical campus is located in downtown Alcalá de Henares. Only 30 kilometres from Madrid, it is easy to reach from all points of Spain and beyond.

By plane:

Madrid Airport Adolfo Suárez-Barajas is only a fifteen-minute taxi ride away.

There is also a bus line 824 from the Airport to Alcalá de Henares (Airport – Torrejón de Ardoz – Alcalá de Henares – Escuela Politécnica).

By train:

From Madrid:

From the stations of Chamartín, Nuevos Ministerios, Recoletos and Atocha in Madrid you can reach the historical campus via commuter (Cercanías) trains C2 and C7 (Chamartín-Alcalá de Henares-Guadalajara).

The frequency of train service for the C7 line is approximately every 5-8 minutes during rush hour and 10-20 minutes during off-peak hours. The estimated time of the journey from Atocha is 40 minutes.

Please notice that the nearest station to the historical campus Alcalá de Henares (not to be confused with Alcalá Universidad, located at the external campus).

From Guadalajara:

Commuter trains bound for Alcalá de Henares stop at the Guadalajara station. The frequency of train service is approximately every 15 minutes during rush hours, and every 30 minutes during off-peak hours. The journey takes approximately 20 minutes.

By car:

From Madrid:

The University of Alcalá’s city centre campus is easily reached by car by taking the A-2 highway which connects Madrid with Barcelona. Once you are on this road, take exit 23 to Alcalá de Henares. This will lead you to the center of the city.

 From Guadalajara:

You can reach Alcalá de Henares from Guadalajara via highway A-2, Madrid-Barcelona. Although there are many exits that lead to the city, the first one (exit 34), leads directly to the Scientific and Technological Campus (external campus) as well as to the city center.

Parking spaces can usually be found free of charge in the residential area behind Caracciolos. A nearby alternative is La Paloma 24-hour underground car park (8.80 euros per day).

Around the city

The main buildings of the University are placed in the city centre of Alcalá: near the Plaza de Cervantes and Calle Libreros. Relatively close, you will find the train and bus stations. A walk from the train station to the centre will take you around 10 minutes, but if you prefer you can go by bus (any bus line passing along Calle Libreros, from the Law Faculty).
